The increased body temperature (fever) is one of the most early and common symptoms of many acute and many chronic diseases of children. Depending on the reasons causing the fever, the child’s age and other factors, the fever may be different.
According to the degree of fever distinguish low grade (from 37 to 38°C, moderate (from 38 to 39°C), high (39 to 41°C) and over, or giperbaricescuu fever (over 41°C). Young children usually can easily tolerate the rise of temperature, which often increases them to high numbers from even the most minor of reasons. So, for example, banal ARVI in adults is accompanied by fever up to 38 – 38,5°C degrees, and babies causes drastic temperature rises to 39-40°C.
It should be understood that when the temperature is too high the body violated the metabolic processes and it becomes impossible to work of organs and systems. However, the absence of fever in infectious process indicates the decrease reactivity (i.e., about the lack of ability to resist infection).
Symptoms of high body temperature in a child
To measure daily temperature in healthy children is not necessary. Already in appearance of the child and his behavior is almost always easy to suspect raising his temperature baby’s health worsens, anxiety, lethargy, moodiness, loss of appetite or refusal to eat. Depending on the type of the fever, the baby’s skin may be hot and red, or pale and cool. Often the temperature increase is accompanied by thirst. In young children a high fever, sometimes accompanied by convulsions.
Causes of high fever in child
There are many diseases that occur with a fever. The most common are viral and bacterial diseases. And for each infection has different types of fever. The body temperature can rise in allergic reactions, systemic connective tissue diseases, tumors, and endocrine pathology. Note that in children, the mechanism of thermoregulation is not completely formed. Therefore, when the overheating temperature can easily rise. This applies both to over-wrap and dress up, and a bright hot sun.
