The active substance of the drug are so-called essential phospholipids (EPL-substance), which represent a fraction of the high-purity phosphatidylcholine. The main component of this fraction is tylenollevaquin. Essential phospholipids in their chemical structure similar to endogenous membrane phospholipids, exceeding them by their functional properties due to high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially linoleic acid. Phospholipids are the main structural elements of cell membranes and organel. They participate in differentiation, division and cell regeneration.
The functional significance of phospholipids based on their amphiphilic properties, which allow you to adjust the permeability of cell membrane. They improve the function of membranes, in particular ion exchange, the process of intracellular respiration, biological oxidation, affect the binding of intracellular respiratory enzymes in mitochondria, as well as on the process of oxidative phosphorylation in energy metabolism of cells. Under physiological conditions, the synthesis of phospholipids meets the needs of normal hepatocytes, which contain a sufficient amount of phospholipids. It is known that the cell membrane structure and function of enzyme systems in the liver are violated. Disturbed biosynthesis of phospholipids, deficiency of which leads to dysfunction of the cell membrane. These processes are especially pronounced in mitochondria, which approximately 30% are composed of phospholipids and which are the most important metabolic processes including oxidative phosphorylation. With a deficit of phospholipids is a violation of fat metabolism that leads to fatty degeneration of the liver. Due to its pharmacological properties Essentiale addresses violations, promotes regeneration of cell membranes, broken reactivates membrane-bound enzyme systems and receptors, increases the detoxification ability of the liver and thus normalizes its function.
The half-life for the choline component is 66 hours, for saturated fatty acids – 32 hours.
In studies of pharmacokinetics in the human body is less than 5% of each of the introduced isotopes H3 and C14 stood out in the faeces.
Fatty degeneration of the liver (also for diabetes); acute and chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, necrosis of liver cells, hepatic coma and precoma, toxic liver damage, including toxemia of pregnancy; pre – and post-operative treatment, especially during operations in the field of hepatobiliary zone; psoriasis, neurodermatitis; radiation syndrome.
In the absence of other doctor’s recommendations, the initial dose: 2 capsules 3 times daily, maintenance dose: 1 capsule 3 times a day. Taking capsules during a meal, not liquid, squeezed small amounts of water.
Adults and children administered by slow intravenous 5-10 ml a day, and in severe cases – 10 to 20 ml per day. For a one time allowable to enter up to 10 ml. If the drug is administered diluted, it is recommended to use the patient’s own blood and dissolve the preparation in 1:1 ratio. Intravenous injections are usually used within 10 days. It is recommended as early as possible to maintain (add) parenteral therapy capsules Essentiale (Essentiale Forte N).
General course of treatment is 3-6 months.
Treatment of psoriasis begin with the appointment of the drug to 2 capsules 3 times a day for 2 weeks, then make a 10 intravenous injections of 5 ml of the drug with the simultaneous appointment of PUVA-therapy.
After a course of injections to resume taking the drug inside and keep it for 2 months.
Very rarely when taking high doses of Essentiale may experience gastrointestinal upset (diarrhea).
You should not use the drug in case of hypersensitivity to any component.
The intravenous solution should not be administered to neonates and premature babies, as part of this form of issue of product contains benzyl alcohol.
Perhaps the use during pregnancy and lactation, but only on the recommendation of a doctor.
Interaction with other medicines:
Up to the present time is unknown.
For dilution solution for intravenous injection should not be used electrolyte solutions.
Reports of overdose were reported.
